What is Your Company's Contribution?

knowledge, money, conversation, new pov?

When I first started working on STARRYUU, it went by another name: The Manifestor Diaries. As you read in The Origin Story of STARRYUU, it took a year’s worth of experimenting and diving deep into inner self to be able to realize that STARRYUU is what was begging to be born out of the dust of The Manifestor Diaries.

I’m not sure if it’s true for other 3/5 Profiles, but for me, it feels like my life purpose or whatever will end up being my legacy is consistently changing. I say consistently and not constantly, because it’s something I’ve come to anticipate, not fear. (This doesn’t mean it’s always easy.) When change becomes consistent, you know it’s coming, even if you don’t know what it will bring. As a 3/5, this consistency is what drives your every experiment. You feel an urge to try something that you know may not last, yet that process of urge → experiment → learn → share is consistent. When change is constant, the focus is less the on process of change being anticipated, and more on the unknown. If you were running an experiment and your laboratory or test subject or tools or hypothesis or controls were constantly changing, it would be hard to run that experiment.

Knowing the difference between consistent change and constant change was key in being able to accept what I discussed in my Authenticity post, that STARRYUU needs the space to become what she will become.

As you probably know by now, Human Design is a big part of STARRYUU. I’m a quad right, which includes non-specific manifestation. When it comes to what I want for STARRYUU, I have to let her become what she will.

- me

If this sounds terrifying to you (Me, starting a company where I am open to her becoming something other than she is today, where consistent change is anticipated, and where everything is an experiment), check out my TikTok where I explain how, as a 3/5 Profile this does not scare me at all, despite the fact that I have yet to generate any revenue.

I was able to come to terms with all of this by digging deep into my own self, through Human Design, meditation, tarot, therapy, and the modalities you’re probably sick of hearing me talk about at this point. For most of my life, until I had become equipped with the “experimenter” language, it felt like I was chasing a dream or a purpose or legacy that I thought would be permanent, but it always ended up being temporary.

Once I was able to give a new name—releasing The Manifestor Diaries—to a more general space—STARRYUU—where experimentation could take place in parallel with consistent change, my purpose and potential legacy became less about me, and more about other people.

The whole point of The Manifestor Diaries was for me to share my experience as a Manifestor, and hopefully reach other Manifestors to help them along their journey of living as a Manifestor. What I came to realize, though, is that every Manifestor’s experience is different. I started to ask myself, where are all the other Manifestors contributing? Maybe other Manifestors don’t want to, or don’t have a space to, or maybe other Manifestors don’t even know they’re a Manifestor! What about people who aren’t even Manifestors?

You’ve heard me mention that “Caring” and “Helping People” are part of my identity across all birth chart based systems. Well, the same is true for a lot of people. So, why, then didn’t I go the route that many with these strengths do? Public service, becoming a doctor, a nurse, a therapist? It goes without saying, but I will say it to help me reach my point: each person’s lived experience is unique. My family, my upbringing, where I was raised, how I was raised, my interests, my life choices, etc., all shape the lens through which my inherent and natural skills are manifested in the world.

Instead of becoming a therapist…
…I created STARRYUU.

Contribution as a Company Core Value: First as a Human Ego Need

Knowing that I have this inherent characteristic of wanting to help people, and knowing that my personal life experience has shaped that need into a specific form of manifestation, what was the result?

I figured I could take my interest in virtual communities, designing cute things, talking to people IRL and via chat, creating, experimenting, researching, modalities like human design etc., and build them into a place where everyone could share their experiences and help each other.

When I made the switch from a 1:1 blog where I would write, and others would read, to a virtual community, the ego-driven life purpose transformed into a facilitation of collective contribution. 3/5 Profiles are said to be here to experiment and share their learnings with everyone else. If I had to put my ego aside momentarily, and look at my life as the whole of its parts from a bird’s eye view, I would say that is probably my legacy. Alas, I don’t think one can name their own legacy, so we’ll have to see. And, after all, doesn’t it seem kind of contradictory when I say I’m finished sharing my experiences and making things all about me, yet I have this newsletter which is seemingly all about how I’m starting a company from nothing?

There are two answers to this. One: writing this newsletter is something I enjoy, and in the end, this business partially exists to help me fulfill my personal passions and purpose that will lead to helping others. Two: My hope is that STARRYUU, and my documentation of its creation, becomes successful enough to contribute something to the world that shows that you can do things differently. But, we’re still in the phase of that experiment where the result is unknown.

However, now, we’re finally getting into a transformation away from a personal, egotistical, human purpose and legacy, and toward collective contribution.

The Semi-Ego Death And Collective Contribution

It’s important that I don’t sit here and try to convince you that I’m some holier-than-thou business owner who has completely released my business plan to the hands of destiny. The reason I call this a semi-ego death is because I’m still a person who is looking to do fulfilling work. I am still trying to thrive under the construct of capitalism. What I have let go of, though, is contributing my energy to things that don’t matter to me, and what matters to me is helping people along their Individuation process.

You may have noticed, as I’ve been experimenting with all of my Core Values so far, I’ve chosen to look at each value, and the definition of the words used for each, through the perspective of a human lens (mine) versus the lens of a thing (STARRYUU).

When I think of Contribution in human terms, I think of it as something you do; make art to contribute to a gallery show, write a LinkedIn post to contribute to a relevant discussion, volunteer to contribute your time to a necessary cause.

When I think of Contribution in terms of a thing, I think of it as something that thing is. Yes, contributions can be made to a thing, but the way I see it, STARRYUU is contribution while also contributing.

This happens in three ways:

Contribution to Existing Discourse

STARRYUU introduces a new way to look at various existing self-exploration modalities through her own lens.

While all of our modalities exist outside of our platform, their existence together inside of STARRYUU is meant to provide context to Individuation. When you use each of these modalities together for this reason, you are able to learn things about yourself that can help you become who you actually are while sharing your experiences with others, all under an umbrella designed by a specific person who isn’t designing umbrellas anywhere else.

STARRYUU by its very existence contributes its own perspective (while contributing the perspectives of our individual members) to multiple existing conversations

Such as:
- The 2027 transformation away from relying on systems and toward relying on the self
- The human design conversation online
- What it’s like to start a small business / Authenticity in business, etc.
- The conversations around the specifics of each our modalities (ie “What is it like to be a ⅗ Profile? What does the King of Cups card mean for me?)

Contribution to Personal and Cultural Advancement

STARRYUU can help people on their own exploration journey, come closer to what their personal legacy will be, what they were here to bring, and what they will leave behind.

This is all part of the Individuation process. People can explore their Individuation anywhere, and we don’t expect people to explore their Individuation here only. I’ll say it as many times as I need to: Diversification of research is a huge tenet of STARRYUU. We’re just one cute umbrella you can stand under if you want to.

The very “Celestine” concept we spoke about in a previous post, meaning: individual advancement leads to collective advancement. This is a contribution to society, and to humanity itself.

Philanthropic efforts that will exist as physical dollar contribution to various organizations. (I can’t wait to write a post about our philanthropy! Stay tuned!)

Contribution as Documentation / Democratization

STARRYUU is a place where knowledge and experience from its individual members is documented collectively.

We invite and ignite conversation and and shared experiences by living on a social platform that is post-based, where everyone can comment.

STARRYUU is a place where Knowledge is democratized, held in a collective, and where that collective lives among other collectives in the greater collective of the internet.

Collectively (sorry, but I had to use that word again), each of these elements contributes to STARRYUU as Contribution.

Contribution as a Company Core Value

Going back to our first post in this series, we explored core values as something that “can never be compromised, either for convenience or short-term economic gain.”

I think looking at Contribution in this way is helpful for a team of humans with egos to remember what we’re here to do with STARRYUU: help people along their Individuation process. So, how are we donating to causes that support this? What are we posting about that supports this? How are we monetizing our content to support this? How we we re-investing in ourselves and our company to support this?

The fact that I’m excited to figure out the answers to these questions in the form of a business model, philanthropy program, the hiring process, content creation, and everything tied to this business proves to me that my journey led me to the right place: my human ego is driven to manifest my experience as STARRYUU in form, and STARRYUU = contribution…

Something bigger than me.

As always, you can watch the live writing of this post on my YouTube below!

STARRYUU is a space for experimenting with individuation. We democratize information around various self-exploration modalities via our virtual community space and accessible tools and resources—including your birth chart! We hope that this tool may be a helpful resource along your individuation process.
